# Privacy, data export & deleting your account

> How to download your data, manage consents, and permanently delete your me&you account.

Open **Account Settings** → **Privacy**.

## Downloading your data

Select **Download your data** to open a page where you can request an export of your personal data, in line with data protection rules (GDPR). It opens in a new tab.

## Managing your consents

Three toggles let you control what you're opted into. All are on by default:

* **Marketing communications consent** — promotional emails about me\&you.
* **Analytics consent** — anonymized usage data that helps us improve the product.
* **Cookies consent** — functional and necessary cookies.

## Deleting your account

<Warning>
  Deleting your account is permanent and can't be undone. It removes your personal account — if you're the sole owner of a wedding, plan ahead (for example, export your data first).

    Found at the bottom of the Privacy tab.

  <Step title="Type the confirmation phrase">
    Type exactly: `permanently delete account`
  </Step>

  <Step title="Hold the delete button for 3 seconds">
    This is an extra safeguard against accidental deletion — press and hold until it finishes.

Once deleted, you're signed out immediately and your account cannot be recovered.
