# Starting your wedding plan

> What to expect from the onboarding wizard when you create your first wedding, and how the 30-day free trial works.

Once you're signed in, a short wizard walks you through setting up your wedding for the first time.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Name your wedding">
    Give your wedding a name so you can tell it apart from any other plans (useful if you're ever helping plan more than one wedding).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add both partners' names">
    These show up throughout your wedding website, invitation, and guest communications.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invite a co-planner (optional)">
    Planning with your partner, a family member, or a friend? You can invite them by email now, or do this later from Wedding Settings.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your wedding date (optional)">
    Already know the date? Add it now — it powers your countdown, task deadlines, and guest-facing schedule. You can always add or change it later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review your summary">
    Confirm the details and finish. This creates your wedding and starts your **30-day free trial**.

<Note>
  me\&you has no recurring subscription. After your 30-day trial, you make a one-time purchase (Basic, Plus, or Premium) to keep full access. You can add payment details during onboarding or later from [Wedding settings, plan & billing](/planning/wedding-settings-plan-and-billing).
</Note>

## If you're asked to sign in partway through

You can start the wizard before creating an account. If you reach a point where an account is required (for example, setting your wedding date), you'll see a sign-up or sign-in prompt without losing your progress — just create your account or sign in, and you'll be dropped right back where you left off.

## What's next

Once your wedding is created, you land on your [Overview](/planning/overview) — your wedding at a glance, with a getting-started checklist to guide your first steps.
